My own story out of Anxiety

Here’s just a little bit about me and why I retrained to provide specialist anxiety therapy.

Before setting up my anxiety therapy practice in Nottingham, I worked in some highly stressful jobs in the public and health sectors.

I believed I had to be there for everyone all of the time and because of this I forgot about my own health.

I didn’t feel good enough and was anxious all the time. Completely lost my confidence and was constantly questioning myself and worrying. Seeking a quick fix to solve my problems. None of which worked.

I experienced a whole range of physical health problems, but still did nothing to sort it out.

And, then I had a stroke.

This made me rethink my entire life.

I realised that I couldn’t go on living with the stress and anxiety, and that I had to finally start to look after my mental and physical well-being. So, I did.

I went through my own anxiety therapy. The support I had really helped me to adjust my thinking and really recognise my own value. Because of this, I was able to adopt a new mindset to cope with anxious thoughts, reduce overthinking, regain my confidence, and get rid of the physical symptoms I had been experiencing. Having been through this process I know I can help you do the same.

Because of my own positive experiences with a therapist, and the way in which it changed my life for the better, I did specialist anxiety training to go with my other therapy training. 

I now provide specialist anxiety therapy to help you to feel happier. To let go of your worries and just feel more confident.

I’m now happier and more confident than I ever was, and want you to feel the same. Sometimes we all need a helping hand to guide us towards being our best selves.

And, now? Specialist Anxiety therapy in Nottingham.

Now, I live in Nottingham with my wife and Hugo- our Labrador puppy. He can be very cheeky, but is adorable.

I love to be out in the garden, walking Hugo or doing DIY (I’m not that great at it though-but I’ll give most things a go)

I also love practicing Tai Chi and Qigong. It’s fab for my own stress and really relaxes me.

I am a Certified Therapist and Coach (a senior member of ACCPH) I also have under grad qualifications in counselling and psychotherapy, a level 6 Diploma in Life coaching, a diploma from the Association for Psychological therapies and a Post Grad degree in Social Work. This goes along with a successful track record in Mental Health services spanning over 23 years.

I have worked with hundreds of people to help them overcome anxiety and stress. From this I have a deep understanding of how your own unique circumstances and challenges can shape your own journey. I’m here to listen to you and help you out of that dark place that I too lived with for so long.
